Bio

Raised by schoolteachers, Todd learned the importance of having a positive impact on the lives of others at an early age. “Throughout my childhood, I observed my parents dedicate countless hours at the school and ballfields helping kids achieve their goals.” After a successful career in teaching and coaching, Todd carried on the family tradition of helping others, through the practice of law.

Todd started Bailess Law Firm right out of law school. Initially, Todd practiced criminal law, providing him the opportunity to try cases to verdict and gain valuable courtroom experience. “My legal training ground came from taking appointed cases and representing those who were indigent throughout West Virginia. Early mornings on I-79 driving to courthouses and late nights reading case law was the norm. Playing sports and coaching instilled in me the importance of hard work and preparation which translates into the practice of law.”

Over the years, Todd gravitated to helping individuals wronged in the workplace and negligently injured. “Whether it be unfair treatment or suffering a preventable injury, folks who come to us in most cases, are having their worst day. Our team is passionate and takes pride in helping our clients achieve justice and move forward with their lives.”

This passion has yielded favorable results for thousands of individuals and families who have experienced:

When not practicing law, Todd enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors, and reading. In 2009, Todd was inducted into the Barton College Athletic Hall of Fame for his accomplishments as an NCAA intercollegiate athlete and coach. https://bartonbulldogs.com/honors/hall-of-fame/todd-bailess/51.
